Savannah's Nixon posts top 10 finish at GSGA Junior Tour Championship

Savannah's Finn Nixon, a junior at Benedictine Military School, posted scores of 69-73-75 to finish 1-over par and T6 at the Georgia State Golf Association Junior Golf Tour Championship played July 20-22 at White Oak Golf Club in Newnan, Ga. 

Nixon was in second place and one stroke behind the leader after the first round, and he continued to stay close to the lead throughout the 54 hole tournament. He finished only 6 strokes behind eventual winner Austin Blackburn from Dunwoody, Ga. 

Nixon qualified for the GSGA Junior Tour Championship by finishing T3 at a regional qualifier played June 23-24 at the Georgia Southern University Golf Course at Statesboro, Ga.
