Lilja-Vazquez continues hot streak at President's Day Classic

Savannah's Maya Lilja-Vazquez carded a score in the 60s for the second straight day to carry a 12 shot lead into the final round of the Savannah Junior Golf Association presented by First Tee-Savannah President's Day Classic being played at Bacon Park Golf Course. 

After opening the tournament with a 4-under par 67, the Savannah Arts Academy sophomore posted a score of 2-under par 69 in the second round to lead Port Wentworth's Hayden Price by 12 strokes going into the third round on February 16. Lilja-Vazquez has now carded two eagles and five birdies in 36 holes to reach 6-under par for the tournament. 

In the Boys 54-hole event, Shim Wang from Winter Garden, Florida, posted a score of 2-under par 69 to take a three stroke lead into the final round over Brandi Li from Waban, Massachusetts. Savannah's Morris Lane, a senior at St. Andrew's School, is nine strokes back after rounds of 73-75. 

In the Boys 8-13 age group that concluded on Sunday, Savannah's Will Parker, 8, edged Pooler's Sajan Patel by four strokes to claim the victory. And in the Girls 8-13 age group, Richmond Hill's Victoria Grant earned a decisive victory over runner up Emma Parker from Savannah.
