Guyton's Adler Saxton turned up the heat in the first round of the Savannah Junior Golf Association Presented by First Tee Savannah tournament being played July 27-28 at Crosswinds Golf Club.
Adler carded six birdies and no bogeys en route to a 6-under par 66 that gave him an 11-stroke lead over Savannah's Patrick Mahoney, who finished with a 5-over par 77. On Saxton's 17th hole, he saved par after playing into a hazard by removing his shirt and playing from the hazard.
