The Benedictine Military School golf team started the 2024 season with an impressive victory at the Camde County Classic played February 24 at Osprey Cove Golf Club in St. Mary's, Georgia.
BC was paced by freshman Bear Dollander, who posted a score of 3-under par 69 to claim low medalist honors by a stroke over Colquitt County High School sophomore Michael Hall. The BC A team included sophomore Hamp Threlkeld's 1-over 73, senior Whit Watson's 3-over 75, senior Clayton Ruchalski's 3-over 75, junior Collin Halligan's 5-over 77 and freshman Jack Weeks' 6-over 78.
Richmond Hill finished third with a team score of 308, and the Wildcats were led by sophomore Ledger Conley's score of Even par 72. The BC B team finished fourth, led by junior Colby Brennan's 4-over 76 and sophomore Heath Kulp's 6-over 78.
The BC A team collectively accounted for 24 birdies. including five apiece by Dollander and Weeks and four each from Watson, Threlkeld and Halligan. On the BC B team, Brennan carded four birdies and an eagle during his round.
The Cadets are in action next on February 26 at the 1902 Cadet Cup being played at the Savannah Golf Club.
