Kobe Beard is this week’s SCPS Athlete of the Week! Kobe finished 3rd at 138 lbs at the regional tournament and is moving on to the sectional round in the state series. Kobe has been wrestling for 14 years and says his favorite memory is making it to state with his brother. Kobe says his goal for this season is to make state and reach 100 career wins. Kobe says his favorite thing about being a Raider is being able to be named Athlete of the Week. When asked what it means to be named Athlete of the Week, Kobe said, “Being athlete of the week means showing dedication to my sport and representing SCPS the best I can as a wrestler.”

The "Coach" Karl DeMasi has been teaching and coaching for the past 35 years on all levels of academia and athletics. One of his hobbies has been writing, announcing and talking about sports. DeMasi has been involved in the Savannah Area sports scene since 1995, and he created the high school magazine "The Prep Sports Report" in 2000. In 2010, the "Coach" started broadcasting The Karl DeMasi Sports Report. He's still going strong, broadcasting on Facebook live and Twitter live every Saturday morning. You gotta love it!
