Calvary Day School junior right-hander Pierce Powell pitched a No-No (no-hitter) with eight strikeouts and no walks against Aquinas on Saturday, March 24, 2022. Powell missed a perfect game with two errors in the third inning as he led the Cavaliers to a 9-0 victory and a doubleheader sweep on the road

"Pierce is a great kid. He has pitched quite a bit for us this year and is consistent," said Calvary Head Baseball Coach Phillip Lee. "He does everything we ask of him. Pierce has waited, and this is his first-year pitching on the varsity level, and he fills it up with strikes. You couldn't ask for more."

Fill it up with strikes he did! Powell needed only 86 pitches with 60 for strikes to improve to a 4-0 record. On the season, he posts a 1.11 earned run average in 19 innings pitched, which is the second-most inning pitched on the team, according to Coach Lee.
