Effingham County High School football program has just gotten Ford tough with the naming of football coach John Ford from Bleckley County High School. Ford will replace Buddy Holder. The Effingham County School Board approved Ford late Thursday night. Ford has a lot of experience.
For the past two seasons, Ford has been the defensive coordinator at Bleckley County High School and will be officially introduced today at a school press conference. Ford has been a head caoch before. Ford made a name for himself at Roswell High School and then went on to Burford High School.
Ford's coaching resume is impressive. Before joining the Bleckley County staff, he was the head coach at Roswell High School and perennial state champion contender Buford High School. Ford's head coaching record is 61-17. Ford was at the helm at Roswell for four seasons (2013-2016). During that span, the Hornets went 40-12 and made it to the GHSA Class AAAAAAA championship twice.
Ford left Roswell for Buford in 2017. He was the head coach for the Wolves from 2017-2018. Ford would guide Buford to the Class AAAAA semifinals and quarterfinals. As they say in the Palace in the Pines, As Always Go Rebels!
