Braden Schnaible has become one of Savannah’s top young golfers, and now he’s taking the next step. The homeschooled standout from The Habersham School officially signed in front of family and friends to play college golf at Georgia College & State University on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at The Habersham School.
Schnaible played a key role in Habersham’s GAPPS state championship run, posting a low medalist score of 71. Along the way, he built one of the region’s strongest junior golf resumes.

He is a seven-time Hurricane Junior Golf Tour champion, the 2024 GAPPS Division II State Champion, and a two-time Savannah City High School Champion. Schnaible also earned the Savannah Morning News Best of Preps 2024 Golfer of the Year. At the Sea Palms Junior Classic, he impressed with a round of 65. Consistently, he has placed in top tournaments, including runner-up and third at the HJGT Tournament of Champions, and achieved multiple top-five finishes on junior golf tours.
Schnaible explained his choice of Georgia College by emphasizing the school's academics and his confidence in new head coach Ben English.
“My test scores and GPA fit right in, and Georgia College makes you get accepted as a student first. That meant a lot to me,” he said. “Also, Coach English is already moving the program in a great direction. He’s bringing a lot of D1 ideas to a D2 school, and that really stood out.”
When asked about his preparation for college golf, Schnaible responded, “Getting out of my comfort zone and playing tough courses was the biggest thing during my past gap year. You don’t get better by playing the same ten courses every year. Playing as many courses and tournaments as possible helped me develop my game.”
Looking ahead, as he prepares for the next chapter of his career, Schnaible has one main goal. “I definitely want to help Georgia College win a Peach Belt Conference title, both individually and as a team.”
Schnaible’s commitment to Georgia College & State University reflects his steady preparation to rise in the sport. His progress is built on a dedicated work ethic, proven results, and championship performances. The Bobcats are gaining a golfer with both a winning background and the competitive edge to contribute immediately.
