Richmond Hill's West wins big in West Virginia tournament

Richmond Hill's Tripp West continued a phenomenal summer of golf by posting a score of 3-under 68 to easily win the Callaway Junior Tour Tour Championship played August 13 at the Greenbrier Sporting Club in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. 

West posted six birdies during his round to win his age group by 21 strokes over Eli Ranieri from Fairmont, West Virginia. West won five times on the West Virginia tour, winning events at Glade Springs, The Greenbrier, Fisher Mountain Golf Club. and Canaan Valley Resort.

Earlier this year, West helped lead the Richmond Hill Middle School Wildcats boys golf team to the Coastal Empire Middle School Golf Region Championship and earned low medalist honors in the championship round with a score of 39.

West also captured the Spring Season points championship on the U.S. Kids Golf Savannah Tour after recording victories at Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton, S.C., and and Palmetto Hall Golf & Country Club on Hilton Head Island, S.C. 

West's success carried over to The Junior Tour Powered by Under Armour, where he captured the St. Simons/Southeast Georgia Spring Season championship in the Boys 11-12 division and qualified for the Junior Tour Powered by Under Armour World Championship in Florida.
