The first round of the 2024 Matt Warren Championship presented by First Tee Savannah on July 15 featured a 2-under par from Savannah's Zach Dao at the Savannah Golf Club.
Dao, 13, holds a nine-stroke lead over 10-year-old Rivers Hood from Savannah and 13-year-old Bryson Lott from Statesboro, who both carded scores of 7-over par 79. In the Boys Championship division, Savannah's Finn Nixon carded a 4-over par 76 and carries a two stroke lead over Savannah's Quentin Brooks and a three-stroke lead over Savannah's Alex Dao.
In the Girls Championship Division, Savannah's Maya Lilja-Vazquez and Ainsely Sheffield are tied atop the leadersboard after both finished with scores of 10-over par 82. In the Boys 10-13 age group, Victoria Grant holds a nine-stroke advantage over Savannah's Emma Parker entering the second round.
The second round will be played July 16 at the Savannah Golf Club.
