Savannah native and Savannah Christian Preparatory School (SCPS) alum Mary Miller is chipping on to a new green. After a standout freshman season at Georgia Southern University (GSU), the SCPS Class of 2024 graduate is transferring to the University of Mississippi to continue her golf career with the Ole Miss Rebels.
Miller immediately impacted GSU, helping lead the women’s golf team to its best season in school history. The Eagles won six tournaments and reached the NCAA National Championship for the first time.
She played in all GSU 13 tournaments as a freshman and posted the best 54-hole score on the team at the national championships. Her strong play earned her a spot on the First Team All-Sun Belt and won the individual title at the More Than Golf Invitational. Miller also finished in the top 10 in six events throughout the year.
Her success on the course caught the attention of college programs nationwide. Once she entered the transfer portal, Miller said she received interest from about 50 schools. But it only took a few hours on The University of Mississippi's campus for her to make her decision.
Now, Miller is looking headed to her next chapter, Ole Miss — one where we will see her continued growth on and off the course.
From Savannah Christian to Georgia Southern to Ole Miss, Mary Miller’s golf journey is starting a new chapter in her storied career—and she’s leaving her mark.
