The St. Andrew’s boys soccer team enters the postseason with an 11-6 record and as the No. 3 seed in the GIAA AAA State Tournament, a position that reflects both progress this season and the steady development of the program.

Under Blake Seale, that development has been intentional. Many players on the roster have trained with Seale through club soccer, camps, and the school’s middle school program before reaching varsity. That shared background has created continuity and trust across the team.
Senior goalkeeper Morris Lane represents that path.
Lane has been part of the program since eighth grade and stepped into a larger role early in his high school career. Over time, he has developed into a steady presence in the goal.
“He represents a lot of what this program is about,” Seale said.
That long-term growth is reflected throughout the senior class.
“Charles Strain, Nate Wrieden and Orlando Aja-Herrera have been around the game from a young age, and I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them grow through different stages of their soccer journeys,” Seale said. “I remember being around some of them at Savannah United and even coaching them at camps years before I became their high school coach. To now see them as seniors, not just as soccer players but as good young men, has been really special.”

Players like Will Berman and Ford Rogers highlight the consistency behind that development.
“You see the hours, the consistency and the love for the game start to come together,” Seale said. “As a coach, those full-circle moments are some of the most rewarding.”
The Lions have also benefited from a strong internal pipeline. A large portion of the roster has advanced through the school’s middle school program, creating continuity at the varsity level.
“Our sophomore group, including Ford Rogers, James Aragon, Peter Minichbauer, Ben Jouffrualt and Reefe Reiter, had success together after winning their middle school league and have continued to grow inside our program,” Seale said. “We also have Luke Bowen, Isaac Sayyar, Sam Davidson and Henry Walcoff, who came off their second middle school title and joined us at the varsity level this year. Seeing those players stay at St. Andrew’s and continue their development with us is a great sign for the future of the program.”
That continuity has helped establish a clear identity. Players enter the varsity level familiar with expectations, allowing the team to build cohesion quickly.
Now, the focus shifts to the postseason.
“We’re excited for the postseason and we want to perform at our best,” Seale said. “This group has put in a lot of work, and it would be special to see everything come full circle with a real push for a state title.”
For the senior group, the opportunity reflects years of investment.
“This senior group is special because I’ve had the chance to see so many of them grow up through the game,” Seale said. “Some I saw at Savannah United, some I coached at camps, some I trained when they were younger and some have been with our program since middle school. To now see them as seniors making a postseason run is a full-circle moment.”
At 11-6 and as the No. 3 seed, the Lions enter the GIAA AAA State Tournament with both confidence and perspective, built on a program that continues to grow from within.
