Richmond Hill boys win Area 1-AAAAAA golf championship

The Richmond Hill High School boyus golf team hosted and won the Area 1-AAAAAA golf tournament on April 27 at Richmond Hill Golf Club in Richmond Hill, Ga.

Richmond Hill senior Ledger Conley claimed individual medalist honors with a score of 4-under par 67, and the Wildcats outpaced runner up Lowndes High School by five strokes. 

Richmond Hill palced three other golfers in the top 10 on the leaderboard during the Area championship. Sophomore Noah Bope finished T4th with a 1-over par 72, senior Matthew Reynolds finished T7 with a 2-over par 73 and senior Patrick Mahaffey finished T10 with a 3-over par 74. 

The Wildcats gained an automatic bid to the Class AAAAAA state tournament being played May 18-19 at Bentwater Golf Club in Acworth, Ga.

Class AAAAAA Area 1 team scores:

Richmond Hill 286 (+2)

Lowndes 291 (+7)

Colquitt 296 (+12)

Harrison 301 (+17)

Tift 308 (+24)
