2020 RECORD: 2-5
HEAD COACH: Michael Thompson
POINTS SCORED: 64
POINTS AGAINST: 239
KEY PLAYERS: Sydney Simmons, Ameer Phillips, Dominique Sloan, Jarmari Wright, Messiah Sprouse, Draven Criswell
FROM THE COACH: “We want to establish a program that will complete and set high standards on and off the field.” -- Michael Thompson
The Bulldogs begin the 2021 season under the direction of first-year head coach Michael Thompson after the former assistant under longtime head coach/athletics director Ulysses Hawthorne was promoted to the head coach position this off-season.
Thompson won several state championships (GISA) as the head coach of Memorial Day School before moving to Beach four years ago.
Beach returns four starters on offense from last season as well as four on the defensive side. Expect the Bulldogs to deploy several receivers each snap on offense (spread scheme) while using more defensive backs than linebackers in a 4-2-5 scheme on defense.

KEY PLAYERS: Ted Hurst (WR/CB), Keon Edwards (QB), Jaden Boone (LB), Michael Ellison Jr. (CB), Mi'Karee Stafford (LB), Malon Petty (OL/DL)
FROM THE COACH: “We want to compete for the region title and return to the state playoffs for the second year in a row.” -- Kenderrick Bonner
Johnson should continue its steady improvement under the direction of head coach Kenderrick Bonner, who enters his fourth season as the SCJ football leader.
Returning from the 2020 squad which made its way into the Class 3A state playoffs as a four-seed are first team All-Region players Ted Hurst (WR/CB) and Jaden Boone (LB) as well as second-team quarterback Keon Edwards.
The Atomsmashers will stick with their spread offense this year while using a 3-3-5 scheme on defense. They return four starters on offense and four on defense. Former Jenkins head coach (2020) Gene Clemons is on Bonner’s coaching staff this season.

WINDSOR FOREST
2020 RECORD: 6-2
HEAD COACH: Jeb Stewart
POINTS SCORED: 197
POINTS AGAINST: 67
KEY PLAYERS: Mike Cabellero (RB), Trayvon Savage (LB/RB), Abasi Scott (WR), Jordan Williams (OL), Jashawn Gibbs (CB)
FROM THE COACH: “We are replacing a lot of players on the defensive side of the ball this season, but our team is playing with more chemistry than we had last year.” -- Jeb Stewart
In 2021, Windsor Forest has perhaps its best shot at a Region 3-3A championship in the last decade. The Knights return plenty of talent on the offensive side of the ball with seven starters from 2020 back this season. If head coach Jeb Stewart’s team can navigate its way around replacing the nine defensive starters lost from last season, the Knights should be one of the best public schools in town.
First team All-Region 3-3A running back Mike Cabellero returns for his senior season after racking up nearly 1,300 rushing yards in his sophomore and junior seasons combined. Fellow senior standout Trayvon Savage returns at linebacker (and running back) as does senior receiver Abasi Scott.
The Knights outscored opponents by 130 points across eight games last season.
