SAVANNAH — Girls flag football continues to take off across the Coastal Empire, and local athletes will have another opportunity to learn the game next month.

The Factory 2.0 will host a Girls Flag Football Combine and Camp on Saturday, July 18, from 4-9 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Savannah. The event is open to girls ages 8-18 and welcomes athletes of all skill levels.

As participation continues to grow at the youth, high school, and college levels, camps like this are helping introduce more young athletes to one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

Participants will receive instruction in flag football fundamentals, position-specific skills, speed and agility testing, combine drills, competition, and mentorship opportunities.

One of the biggest draws is the registration special. The first 100 girls to sign up will attend for free. After those spots are filled, registration will be $20 per athlete.

According to organizers, the goal is to build confidence, discipline, character, and leadership while providing a positive environment for girls to learn and compete.

With more schools adding girls' flag football programs and interest continuing to rise throughout Georgia, opportunities like this are helping grow the game locally.
