Guyton's Adler Saxton, a homeschooled rising sophomore, torched Crosswinds Golf Club with scores of 66-68 to finish 10-under par and blow away the field in the Boys 14-18 age group at a Savannah Junior Golf Association Presented by First Tee Savannah event played July 27-28.
Saxton reached 11-under par for the tournament through five holes of the second round before a couple of bogeys. But he carded a birdie on his final hole to finish a commanding victory in style over runnerup Finn Nixon, a Benedictine Military School junior from Savannah who posted a score of 4-under 68 in the second round to finish 1-under for the tournament.

In the Girls 14-18 age group, Savannah's Savannah Lane, a sophomore at St. Andrew's School, finished with a second-round score of 6-over 78 to catch and pass first-round leader Maya Lilja-Vazquez, a junior at Savannah Arts Academy who ended with a score of 9-over 81 in the second round. Lane played her last four holes in Even par to turn a two-shot deficit into a one-stroke victory.

In Boys 8-13, Savannah's Cliff Cromwell claimed the win and was the only player in the field to post a score under 80 with his second-round of 7-over 79. And in the Girls 8-13 age group, Savannah's Emma Parker coasted to a victory with scores of 84-89.
