HOOPS NEWS: State Playoffs - Win and stay in!

The first round of the state basketball playoffs for the Georgia High School Associations (GHSA) boys and girls is set for February 21, 2023 (girls) and February 22, 2023 (boys), with games at the higher seed.  The Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA), and the South Carolina Independent Schools Association (SCISA) enter the second round of thier organzations state boys and girls playoffs.

 

Every round of the playoffs will be covered in full by the Prep Sports Report. If you pay for a subscription to the NFHS Network, you can watch most games live. 

 

Here are the team's records in the first round/second round and when their games start. As final scores are posted online, this list will be updated. 

 

Twenty-two high schools from the Savannah area will participate in the 2022-23 Basketball State Playoffs for the Georgia High School Associations (GHSA), the Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA), and the South Carolina Independent Schools Association (SCISA). 

 

On Feb. 21 and 22, playoffs start at different places around the state. In the playoffs' first round, nine Savannah area teams will host games. Visit the GHSA.net, giaasports.org, and scisa.org websites for a complete list of games and brackets.  

 

The second round of the playoffs for GHSA will be on Feb. 24 and 25. The third round will be on February 28 and March 1. The semifinals will be on March 3 and 4, and the state championships will be on March 8 through 11.
