HOOPS ROUNDUP: Big wins for St. Andrew's & Habersham girls teams plus other scores

The 2023 Savannah area high school basketball region and state playoffs continued Tuesday (February 14) with area-round region playoff games across the state. Below are the final scores and a recap of two big wins from yesterday's games, St. Andrew's School and the Habersham School girl's basketball teams. 

In the first round of the GIAA 2AAA Region Tournament, the St. Andrew's Girl's Basketball team beat the Westminster School of Augusta 48-42 in overtime. Ava Stillwagon, a senior, led the Lions with 18 points. Senior Sarah Koegler added eight points. The last time these two teams played was February 4, 2023; Westminster defeated St. Andrews 58-28. The Lady Lions girls play Bulloch Academy in the semifinals on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Habersham School Lady Patriots beat Trinity Prep Loganville 47–40 to move on to the second round of the GAPPS DI AA state tournament. Anna Cadle scored 13 points to lead the Lady Patriots, and Myla Shippy added 10. They will play Central Christian on Friday in Sharpsburg.
