It is just a matter of getting there for both Calvary Day and Savannah Christian. If both teams win their semifinal series, it would set up an all-Savannah championship for the Class 3A-A Private state title.

The two schools will begin play in the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class 3A-A Private semifinals. Calvary Day will battle Prince Avenue Christian, and Savannah Christian will clash with Wesleyan in a doubleheader format for both teams.

Calvary Day (25-7) enters the game off a sweep of Providence Christian, and Savannah Christian (24-13) pushed past Greater Atlanta Christian in three games to move into the state's final four.

Despite getting to the state championship last season, Calvary Day head coach Philip Lee isn't taking anything for granted. The Cavaliers are rolling into the game on a 10-game winning streak.

"Prince Avenue is a very good team," evaluated Lee. "I like how our guys are playing and how our guys have handled themselves throughout this playoff run. We're just excited to be able to compete in one more playoff round."

The Cavaliers enter the game with a .348 team batting average, and their offensive attack has been well distributed.

However, Ryan Wallace, Noah Bauer, and Dalton Kelley have been consistent contributors in key roles.

Wallace is 6-2 with a 1.64 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 40 innings, along with a .302 batting average, 13 RBIs, and 15 runs scored. Kelley is at .365 with a team-high 30 RBIs and 35 runs scored, and Bauer is 4-1 with a 1.45 ERA with 27 strikeouts in 24 innings and a .438 average.

"All three of those guys have been a huge part of our success this year," emphasized Lee. "Wallace has been in quite a few roles for us this year as a first baseman, designated hitter, starting pitcher, and closer, and has excelled in each of those roles.

"Kelley has been a constant for us this entire year in the leadoff spot and at second base. He is a super-talented player that continues to impress us. Bauer was one of those guys we were super excited about this year. He has had a great year at the plate for us as well as a pitcher on the mound. We have been extremely happy with his growth this season."

Savannah Christian head coach Matt Oglesby sees a challenge ahead in Wesleyan, but he has watched his club navigate through its share of obstacles.

"We know Wesleyan is a powerhouse. They've got good arms and play the game the right way," stated Oglesby. "But we're focused on playing our game. The only team that can beat us is us. We'll take it one pitch at a time and go in confident."

Like Calvary Day, Savannah Christian has had a balanced attack. Harding, Dennis, and Dawson Kelley, along withEthan Jones, have been consistent on the mound and with the bats. Chase Boyer and Brody Schuman

Still, making it to the state semifinal wasn't an easy road.

"Our team has dealt with a lot of adversity this year," stressed Oglesby. "We have been battling through injuries all year.

"We have been winning by committee the las few weeks. Someone different have stepped up each playoff series. We are just now getting healthy and hitting our stride."
