The A.E. Beach High School Lady Bulldog Basketball program tradition of sending players to college continues. Another  Bulldog is going to the next level, senior Kaila Rougier. Rougier is one of the best girl's basketball players in Savannah and Georgia. Kaila put her signature on a National Letter of Intent dotted line to continue her career at the University of North Florida yesterday, January 6, 2021. The University of North Florida Ospreys is a NCAA Division I basketball program. Rougier verbally committed back in July of 2020.

Rougier, going into this year, has excelled in the classroom and on the court. As a student, Kaila maintains a 3.8 GPA. As a junior, Rougier, an Atlanta Journal-Constitution Class AAA All-state selection and first-team  Savannah Morning News All-City player stood out on the hardwood. The Lady Bulldogs reached the GHSA Class AAA girls basketball championship game last season. Kaila was one reason. She averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3.5 steals per game last season. This season Kaila has been named GHSA Preseason All-State for Class AAA.

On the North Florida Ospreys website the Lady Ospreys Head Coach Darrick Gibbs stated, "Today is a great day for our Osprey family. Kaila is a big time athlete who will have a tremendous impact in our program on and off the court. She is a dynamic play maker who fits perfectly into our system. She is a true culture kid who will definitely have an opportunity to leave her mark on this program." Congratualtiions Kaila!
