Mahaffey wins Georgia PGA Junior Tour event on Sea Island

Richmond Hill's Patrick Mahaffey posted scores of 69-71 to finish 4-under par and win the PGA Georgia Junior Tour's Sea Island Classic played on the Retreat Golf Course at Sea Island Resort.

Mahaffey, a junior at Richmond Hill High School, held a one-stroke lead over Cane Carver from Douglas, Ga., after the first round and was the only player in the field to card a score under par in the second round. Mahaffey was tied for second in the field for number of birdies with eight in 36 holes.

Mahaffey also won the Georgia PGA Junior Tour's Georgia Southern Junior Classic played May 29-30 at the Georgia Southern University Golf Course in Statesboro, Ga. He is now tied for third in the Georgia PGA Junior Tour's Player of the Year points race with 200 total points.
