New Hampstead star wins Hollis Stacy Award

The 2024 Hollis Stacy Award goes to New Hampstead High School four-sport standout Gianna Brown.
 
Brown is a junior and the first Hollis Stacy Award recipient from New Hampstead. The presentation of the award will take place on May 13 at New Hampstead.
 
Brown was a standout peformer in volleyball, flag football, basketball and soccer during 2023-24.
 
As a middle hitter in volleyball, she tallied 99 kills, 9 blocks and 45 serving aces while being named First Team All Region. In flag football, she had 524 receiving yards, 17 receiving touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and six interceptions, earning First Team All State honors as well as Area Defensive Player of the year.
 
During basketball season, Brown averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds per game earning First Team All Region honors. As a goalkeeper for the soccer team, she made 47 saves.
 
The Hollis Stacy Award has been presented annually to the area's most versatile and outstanding female athlete since 1993. The award was named after Savannah’s Hollis Stacy, a three-time U.S. Women’s Open champion and 18-time winner of the LPGA Tour who was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2012.
