Richmond Hill's Ledger Conley, a Richmond Hill High School senior, tied for the lead after three rounds at the Georgia Junior Amateur Championship played July 7-9 at Valdosta Country Club in Valdosta, Ga., and ultimately finished runner-up to Grant Odom from Statesboro, Ga., after a thrilling three-hole playoff.

Odom, a senior at Bulloch Academy in Statesboro, made a birdie on the third playoff to claim the championship after both players finished 7-under par after 54 holes. Conley, who recently became the first Coastal Empire junior golfer in more than 20 years to qualify for the United States Junior Amateur Championship, carded scores of 70-70-69 and led by one stroke before Odom birdied his final hole of the third round to force a playoff.

As a result of his runner up finish, Conley will receive an invitation to participate in the 50th Georgia-South Carolina Junior Challenge Match as a member of the Georgia team.

Savannah's Bear Dollander, a junior at Benedictine Military School, finished T11 after after scores of 72-72-75 put him at 3-over par; Savannah's Chad Chadwell, a senior at Benedictine, was T21 after posting rounds of 75-72-75 to finish the tournament 6-over par; and Richmond Hill's Patrick Mahaffey, a senior at Richmond Hill High School, was T47 at 12-over par after scores of 75-75-78.
