Savannah Area Runners Go the Distance with Standout Cross Country Times

The fall cross country season has begun. In September, runners from the Savannah area posted fast times at major meets. According to MileSplit GA, several boys ran under 16 minutes, with more breaking 18. Multiple girls finished under 20. The following runners achieved these marks.

Boys – Under 16:00 Performances

Class 4A

  • Cole Minnich, Benedictine Military School (Junior) – 15:47.58, 2nd place, Ranchers Release the Hounds Invitational, Sep. 20, 2025

 

  • Cole ran 15:47.58 at the Ranchers’ Release the Hounds Invitational in Gray, Georgia. His time set a Benedictine Military School record and is the fastest in the area this season.

 

 

Class 6A

  • Eddie Howell Richmond Hill (Junior) – 15:57.00, 11th place, Cecil Field Summer Classic, Aug. 22, 2025

 

Boys - Under 16:00 Performances

Class 6A

  • Carter Dieterich, Richmond Hill (Senior) – 16:05.00, 16th place, Cecil Field Summer Classic, Aug. 22, 2025

Class 5A

  • Ben Fluegel, South Effingham (Senior) – 16:14.77, 1st place, 5K @ the Farm (Honey Ridge Agricenter), Sep. 27, 2025

Class 2A

  • Nico Klaras, Savannah Arts Academy (Sophomore) – 17:10.70, 2nd place, Raider Invitational, Sep. 17, 2025

These results highlight the depth and talent of Savannah’s distance runners. As the cross-country season draws to a close on November 1, local athletes show why the area has standout runners.
