Savannah Christian Preparatory School Announces New Head Coaches

Savannah Christian Preparatory School is pleased to announce the hire of Mr. Sean Rhodes as the new Head Coach for boys’ lacrosse and the promotion of Mr. Matt Oglesby to the position of Head Coach for the baseball team.

Mr. Rhodes has a long history with lacrosse, having been a two-time NJACC National Championship team member coached by an 11-time national champion. Most recently, he served as the Saint Francis University (NCAA, Division I) Interim Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach in the fall of 2019. Prior to his time at Saint Francis University, Mr. Rhodes served as the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. where he received his Masters of Science in Applied Mathematics. “​I am excited to have Sean Rhodes join our coaching staff in the fall. Sean brings excitement and passion for lacrosse and valuable coaching experience at Division I and Division II levels”, said SCPS Athletic Director, Julie Jones.

Also announced, is the promotion of Matt Oglesby to the role of Head Baseball Coach. Mr. Oglesby has been a member of the coaching staff since 2015 and assisted the Raiders’ first GHSA state title in 2017 as the pitching coach. “​I'm blessed and excited to have the opportunity to take over such a successful program. I’m thankful that Coach Carter gave me the freedom to come in and implement some of my philosophies over the last few seasons to make the transition into Head Coach as smooth as possible. I have big shoes to fill but I'm up for the challenge!”, said Mr. Oglesby. ​He has also served as the head softball coach since 2018. Prior to his time at Savannah Christian, Mr. Oglesby served as Assistant Coach for Savannah State in 2013.
