The first John Carr Seaport Real Estate Prep Sports Report Baseball Players of the Week for the 2025 high school baseball season have been announced, with Benedictine junior Colvin Proto earning Pitcher of the Week honors for his dominant no-hit performance and Effingham County senior Jacque's King named Player of the Week after a stellar offensive showing at the plate.
Pitcher of the Week for February 10-15
Benedictine junior Colvin Proto has been named the Pitcher of the Week after 
his outstanding performance on the mound on February 14, 2025. Proto pitched five innings, allowing no hits, no runs, and no walks while striking out seven batters. His coach, Jason Pascual, praised his hard work and attitude.
"Colvin comes to practice every day ready to work," Pascual said. "He brings a positive attitude to school and is enjoyable to coach."
Player of the Week for February 10-15
Effingham County High School senior Jacque's King is the Player of the Week 
for his strong offensive performance in four games played between February 12-15. He hit .533 with two doubles, five RBIs, six runs, and three stolen bases. His OPS for the week was 1.349. Effingham County head coach Eric McCombie emphasized King's leadership on and off the field.
"Q is a leader in the locker room, and it means a lot to have him in the lineup," McCombie said.
