Guyton's Madi Saxton, a member of the graudating Class of 2025 and future Savannah College of Art & Design golfer, outlasted Reese Day from Dalton, Ga., over six playoff holes to win the Girls 12-19 age group at the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour Lowell Fritz Junior Classic played July 14-15 at Dalton Golf & Country Club in Dalton, Ga.
Both Saxton and Day, who is committed to play college golf at Dalton State College in Dalton, Ga., finished regulation play at 3-over following identical scores of 74-73. Saxton earned her second SJGT victory of the season to go along with a win at the SJGT Forest Heights Junior Classic played in June in Statesboro.
In the Boys 16-19 age group, Pooler's Caden Hartley, a senior at Savannah Country Day School, continued his strong recent play by finishing T5 after a second round score of 1-under par 71. Hartley, who posted a score of 3-over 75 during the first round in Dalton, also recently won two Georgia State Golf Association one-day events.
