This week’s SCPS Athlete of the Week is Danielle Rhodes! Danielle had a great showing for the Raider Volleyball team last week in Statesboro and ended with two impressive performances over the weekend. Danielle led the team with 14 kills over Aquinas & Statesboro with.294 hitting percentage and finished out Saturday with 8 kills against Hilton Head and 9 kills and 3 blocks against Porter-Gaud to help the Raiders go 4-0 for the week.
Danielle has been playing volleyball since 8th grade and tells her favorite memories are of her and her teammates getting hyped up in the locker room before home games. Danielle is hoping for a successful season that culminates in making it to the state championship. Danielle loves playing for the Raiders and tells her favorite thing about the team is being able to play with her closest friends while still having fun and glorifying God. When asked what it means to be named Athlete of the Week, Danielle said, “It is such an honor because there are so many talented athletes on the volleyball team and in the school, so I am super grateful. I am so thankful for this honor, but I am also thankful that we can even play volleyball this year and I have definitely learned not to take even a single practice for granted.” Please join us in congratulating Danielle Rhodes on being named this week’s SCPS Athlete of the Week!
