One made big plays. The other was all over the field. Both earned Savannah Quarterback Club honors.

Amir Atkinson caught four passes for Savannah Country Day that helped the Hornets win. Pat Jackson seemed to be everywhere for St. Andrew’s and still found time to play quarterback.

The Savannah Quarterback Club named Atkinson and Jackson Week 6 honorees for their two-way play.

Week 6 Offense

Country Day did something no team had done in nearly two years when the Hornets defeated Bethesda.

Atkinson helped make it happen, catching four passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns. He also recorded three tackles on defense and earned the Week 6 Offensive Player of the Week award.

Week 6 Defense

Jackson recorded 21 tackles, including two for a loss, against Augusta Prep.

The St. Andrew’s standout also played quarterback, helping his team on both sides of the ball. Jackson earned the Week 6 Defensive Player of the Week award.

Legendary Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm served as the guest speaker for the club’s Father and Son Night on Oct. 5. Fromm spoke about hard work, chasing goals, and what it takes to reach the next level.

The Savannah Quarterback Club is celebrating its 80th season. The club meets every Monday night at the American Legion at 1108 Bull Street, just south of Forsyth Park.

Prep Sports Report will continue to feature the club’s weekly award winners throughout the 2026 season.
