For the first time, the Prep Sports Report and Grassi Roofing are announcing the Girl's Player of the Week Award. For week one, the PSR got a wide range of nominees from local coaches sent from around the Savannah, Georgia, area. The number of nominees will vary weekly depending on the nominations received by the PSR by local coaches.
Player: Rose Williams, Junior - WR/QB/RB
School: St. Vincent's Academy
Sport: Flag football
Week: October 10, 2020 -October 15, 2022
Game: October 14, 2022, vs. Savannah Christian Preparatory School
Last week: As the QB for SVA, Williams was 16 for 25 passing for 230 yards with two touchdowns. She had 73 rushing yards with two rushing touchdowns. Furthermore, Rosie threw and rushed for two 2-point conversions.
Coach's Comments:
Rose has been one of the most dedicated players in our flag football program. She shows up and works hard day in and day out and has been an absolute pleasure to coach. She's eager to learn and takes on every challenge without complaint.
A perfect example of this was last Tuesday when Rose stepped up to take over at quarterback position when our starting QB could not play. Rose led the offense to a dominating victory over Savannah Christian Prep with 230 passing yards, 73 rushing yards, and four total touchdowns... 2 passing and two rushing. She stayed calm under pressure and made the necessary adjustments given by the coaching staff. Rose had very little time to prepare to play the most difficult position in football but accepted the challenge and delivered a stellar performance. - Mike St. Louis
