Guyton's Madilyn Saxton carded scores of 74-74 at Forest Heights Country Club July 17-18 to finish 4-over par and solo second in the Girls 12-19 division at the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour's Forest Heights Junior Classic.
Saxton wasn't the only Savannah area junior golf to finish high on the leaderboard. Savannah's Hamp Threlkeld, a rising sophmore at Benedictine, posted 71-76 to finish 3-over in third place in Boys 14-15, and Savannah's Bear Dollander, an incoming freshman at Benedictine, was only one stroke back in fourth place in Boys 14-15 after scores of 74-74. And in Girls 12-19, Richmond Hill's Hannah Barrett finished third but carded the lowest round of the tournament in the Girls' division with a 4-under 68 in the second round.
In Boys 16-18, Savannah's William Whitfield, a rising senior at Savannah Country Day, finished T10 after carding 78-75. And in the Boys 12-13 age group, Pooler's Kyle Price posted 78-81 to finsih in seventh place.
