High school sports in Savannah will take center stage on Monday, Dec. 15, when HV Jenkins High School and Benedictine Military School compete for Georgia High School Association (GHSA) state championships at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Fans can watch both championship games live on the NFHS Network and on Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB).

The Jenkins flag football state championship at 1 p.m. and the Benedictine football title game at 7 p.m. will both air on GPB (Channel 9 in Savannah) and stream on the NFHS Network.

Note: All 13 GHSA championship games will be broadcast live on GPB.

Jenkins Flag Football Chasing History

Division 2 State Championship
Jenkins vs. Greenbrier
Kickoff: 1 p.m.

The Jenkins flag football team enters the state championship with a chance to make school history, as no girls' team at Jenkins has ever reached a state title game or won a state title in any sport before.

Jenkins comes in with a 22-1 record. The team’s only loss this season was to Grovetown. The Warriors responded by winning the playoff rematch 27-7. They have been strong on both offense and defense during the postseason.

Quarterback I’Yarna “YaYa” Lee leads the offense. A’Niyah Browner is a key playmaker at wide receiver and linebacker. Jenkins has shown good balance, using speed on offense and discipline on defense to control games.

Greenbrier enters the game with a 21-3 record. The team is seeking its third straight state championship. The Wolfpack has one of the most explosive offenses in the state, led by sophomore quarterback Addisen Odom. Greenbrier relies heavily on its passing game and has experience on the championship stage.

Benedictine Back in the State Finals

GHSA Class 4A State Championship
Benedictine vs. Creekside
Kickoff: 7 p.m.

Benedictine returns to the state championship game, aiming to win its fifth overall state title in school history. The Cadets have an unbeaten record in state title games and are regarded as one of the most consistent high school football programs in Georgia over the past decade.

Benedictine enters the game with an 11-2 record. The Cadets played one of the toughest schedules in the state. They are a balanced team, using both the run and pass on offense. The defense is physical and fast.

Creekside comes in undefeated at 14-0. The team has put together one of the most dominant seasons in state history. The Seminoles set a state record for points scored in a season and averaged nearly 60 points per game. Their offense can score in many ways. Their defense has posted several shutouts.

How to Watch

NFHS Network: Watch both championship games live or on demand

Georgia Public Broadcasting: Live TV and streaming coverage for Jenkins vs. Greenbrier at 1 p.m. Benedictine vs. Creekside airs at 7 p.m.

The first two Savannah-area teams take the field Monday with state championships on the line. For Jenkins, it’s a chance to make history. For Benedictine, it’s another opportunity to add to its strong tradition. Calvary Day School, seeking its first football title, faces defending state champion Hebron Christian Academy on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The game can be watched on GPB and the NFHS Network.
