Savannah's Jack Weeks, a freshman at Benedictine Military School, posted a first round score of 2-over par 74 on the Indian Mound course at the Jekyll Island Club to lead the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour's Jekyll Island Fall Junior Open being played September 23-24.

After finishing the first nine holes at 3-over par, Weeks made birdies on Nos. 10 and 11 and played his second nine in 1-under par. He holds a 5-stroke lead over Charlie Suddath from Atlanta, Ga.

The Boys 14-15 age groups and Boys 16-18 age groups play from the same tees, and Weeks also leads all boys ages 14-18 competing in the tournament.
