Weeks wins at Georgia PGA Junior Tour event

Savannah's Jack Weeks, a 13-year-old 8th grader at Blessed Sacrament School, carded a second round score of 1-under par 71 to win the Boys 11-13 age group at the Sea Island Classic, a PGA Georgia Section Junior Tour event played at the Sea Island Retreat course August 27-28.

In addition to Weeks' win, Benedictine junior Whit Watson posted scores of 73-72 to finish T3 at 1-over par in the Boys 16-18 age group, and Benedictine freshman Hamp Threlkeld finished with scores of 75-76 to finish 7-over par and T3 in the Boys 14-15 age group. 

After a 7-over par 79 in the first round, Weeks' score of 71 in the second round was the only under par score in the 11-13 age group during the tournament. He played his first 9 holes in the second round in 2-under par with an eagle and a birdie. Runner up Grant Smith, 13, from Roswell, Georgia, played his last four holes in 4-over par, while Weeks played his last eight holes in even par to finish the come from behind victory.
