The 7th annual Savannah Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star Baseball Classic will be a best-of-three-game format held at local schools instead of Grayson Stadium this year. The first game is set for Friday, June 9, at South Effingham High School in Guyton at 7 p.m. Games two and three will be seven innings games on Saturday, June 10, at Benedictine. The first pitch will be at 2 p.m. Teams were selected by a draft.

This year, the Savannah FCA held a draft for both teams: the Green vs. the Red team. Savannah FCA, Ambassador of Baseball Jason Rockwell, said, "In past years, the FCA had city schools team versus county or public versus private schools team," Rockwell also added, "The 3-game format is new so that we can showcase more talent from the three Savannah Area counties, Bryan, Chatham, and Effingham. This year it's a hodge-podge of players on both teams from different schools."

The Green and Red team FCA All-stars will come from the following schools, Benedictine, Bryan County, Calvary Day School, Coastal Homeschool, Effingham, Habersham School, HV Jenkins, Islands High School, Memorial Day School, New Hampstead, Savannah Christian, St. Andrew's School, and South Effingham High School. The team rosters are listed, and teammates during the season will battle each other in the three-games.

The mission and vision of FCA were established in 1954 by Don McClanen. McClanen was the head basketball coach at Eastern Oklahoma A&M.  By involving, preparing, and empowering coaches and athletes to unite, inspire, and transform the world through the gospel, FCA focuses on serving local communities worldwide. Per FCA's website, FCA has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high, and youth levels to use the powerful platform of sport to reach every coach and every athlete with the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

Ticket information will be released this coming week. Complete rosters are listed below. For more information about the FCA, the game, and its history, visit Savannah Area FCA on Facebook or their web address www.savfca.org.
