Who’s Ready? Savannah Teams Move On or Begin State Playoffs

It’s playoff time across Georgia, and the postseason energy is here as volleyball and softball teams from the Savannah area gear up for their state playoff runs. Here’s a look at the thrilling matchups kicking off this week. GHSA Volleyball Brackets for Class 3A–1A (Public & Private) will be released today by 2 p.m.

 


Tuesday, October 14

Volleyball

GHSA Class 6A: Richmond Hill (38-10) hosts Dacula (15-21)

Softball 

GHSA Class 6A: Mill Creek (17-9) at Richmond Hill (15-9)

GHSA Class 5A: Winder-Barrow (11-12) at South Effingham (19-3)

Apalachee (9-13) at Effingham County (23-6)

GHSA Class 1A D-II: Bryan County (15-13) at Johnson County (11-13)

 


Wednesday, October 15

Volleyball

GHSA Class 5A: Apalachee (25-18) at South Effingham (38-10)

Habersham Central (26-9) at Effingham County (19-21)

Softball 

Islands (5-12) at Harlem (20-8)

Class 3A Private:

Galloway (3-11) at Savannah Christian (7-11)

Saturday, October 18

GAPPS Volleyball

 The Habersham School on Saturday Oct. 12th moved on to the GAPPS Division I-A state semifinals with a 3-0 win over Providence Classical. Brownie Olson led the way with 12 kills and 5 aces. Myla Shippy added 5 kills, while Aniston Smeltzer and Claire Patterson each had 4. Addison Conger served 5 aces, and Abbey Zellner finished with 27 assists.

Saturday: The Habersham School (31-11) versus the winner Veritas/The Forest School, in the GAPPS State in the GAPPS Class A State Semifinals.

Every game this week propels winners closer to the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight rounds next week. Stay tuned to Prep Sports Report for updates, results, and photos from across the Savannah Area as local teams pursue moving on in the road to state volleyball and softball titles.
