The regular season is in its final week, and several Savannah-area high school soccer teams have clinched region championships ahead of the GHSA and GIAA playoffs, which begin next week.

Richmond Hill went undefeated in GHSA 6A Region 1 on the boys' side, going a perfect 10-0 in region play and finishing 14-3 overall.

In GHSA 3A Region 3, Islands High School finished first with a 9- 0 record.

In GHSA 1A Division I Region 3, Savannah Christian won the region 5-0 and edged out rival Savannah Country Day.

On the girls' pitch, Richmond Hill also finished first in GHSA 6A Region 1 with a perfect 10-0 region record, a 16-1 overall mark, and a 14-game winning streak.

In GHSA 3A Region 3, Calvary Day was perfect at 8-0, remaining undefeated at 11-0 overall.

In GHSA 2A Region 3, Savannah Arts Academy claimed the top spot with a 6-0 region record and a 13-1 overall record.

Finally, in GHSA 1A Division I Region 3, Savannah Country Day secured the title with a 6-0 mark, improving to 14-3 overall after a key win over St. Vincent's (now 12-1 overall, 5-1 region).

The final week of the regular season is here, and these top teams will look to carry their momentum into the postseason.

The playoffs begin next week.

The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) has announced that soccer will follow the same postseason format as football, basketball, and baseball for Class A, 2A, and 3A. Under the updated system, public and private schools in these classifications will compete in separate brackets. Teams will be seeded using a power rating system instead of the traditional region-based matchups.

The traditional playoff structure remains in place for Classes 4A, 5A, and 6A. The top four teams from each region will qualify for the state playoffs.

Here is the GHSA state soccer playoff schedule:

April 22 – First Round (Girls: A-D2, 4A, 5A, 6A)

April 23 – First Round (Boys: A-D2, 4A, 5A, 6A)

April 24 – First Round (Girls: Private, A-D1, 2A, 3A)

April 25 – First Round (Boys: Private, A-D1, 2A, 3A)

April 29 – Second Round (Girls: A-D2, 4A, 5A, 6A)

April 30 – Second Round (Boys: A-D2, 4A, 5A, 6A)

May 1 – Second Round (Girls: Private, A-D1, 2A, 3A)

May 8-9 – Semifinals

According to the Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA) website, St. Andrew's School boys' and girls' soccer will not start playoff play until May 16, 2025.
