At the 3rd Annual Blue Tide Run, hosted by Long County High School on September 19, 2024, Benedictine Military School crossed the finish line first in the Boy's 5000-meter run with three of the top five spots in the Boys' Varsity 5000-meter run. The Cadets secured the first, second, and fifth-place finishes and took the team title.
The Savannah Arts Academy placed first in the Girl's meet, with four Lady Panther runners finishing in the top six spots to run away with the first-place trophy. Let's look at the Boy's race first.
Leading the way was John Dodson, a senior from Benedictine Military School, who set a demanding pace at 16:30.84. Cadets sophomore Cole Minnich took second place at 16:51.80. The third Cadet runner in fifth place was sophomore Nikos Hanks, with a time of 18:01.32. These three top Benedictine runners gave the team a commanding lead in team scoring.
Third place went to HV Jenkins senior Theo Tedder, who crossed the line in 17:21.94. Harry Cleland, a junior at The Habersham School, finished fourth at 17:42.67, helping the Patriots secure second place in the overall team standings.
Four Savannah Schools were placed in the top five in the team standings. Benedictine's top runners took three of the top five finishes and clinched first place as a team with 33 points, well ahead of second-place Habersham School, which finished with 110 points. Savannah Arts Academy placed third with 111 points. HV Jenkins placed fifth with 182 points.

In the girls' race, Savannah Arts Academy and Habersham School all demonstrated strong performances in the Girls' varsity 5000-meter race.
Savannah Arts Academy finished first and was led by senior Leah Nyce, who finished overall in second place at 20:42.22. She was closely followed by teammate Frances Tedder, a sophomore, in third place at 21:11.65. Senior Elle Harward-Grant finished fifth at 21:59.50, while freshman Ava Treece finished sixth at 22:10.21. Morgan Irvine rounded out the team's top five, finishing 12th place at 23:16.84.
Habersham School also performed well, with two runners finishing in the top 10. The Patriots were led by freshman Sadie McGarity, who placed 4th at 21:44.27. McGarity's classmate, Freshman Gaby Kenard, followed closely, securing 8th place at 22:51.14. Senior Zoie Hohnerlein placed 28th at 25:26.69, and Lauren Beaumont finished 54th at 27:00.88. Freshman Anna Howard rounded out the team's scoring in 61st place, with a time of 27:25.11. The Lady Patriots finished 6th as a team.
