A Cavalier & A Rebel catch the John Carr Seaport Real Estate Baseball Players of the Week

This week's John Carr Seaport Real Estate/Prep Sports Report Baseball Players of the Week goes to a Calvary Day School Cavalier and an Effingham County High School Rebel. The Prep Sports Report wants you, the fans, to nominate your favorite high school baseball player who had an outstanding game or week on the baseball diamond for the season of 2023 by letting the Prep Sports Report Staff know.

 

Please email the PSR at https://prepsportsreport.com/Contact to nominate athletes for the John Carr Seaport Real Estate Baseball Player of the Week. Then the PSR will contact your player's coach for all the info for your nominee to be the baseball player of the week. The winner will be announced on the Prep Sports Report website and social media pages, and thank you for your nomination (s). All nominations are due EACH TUESDAY AT 10:00 AM.

PITCHER of the WEEK

Player: Will Hampton - junior Pitcher

School: Calvary Day School

Sport: Baseball

Week:  March 6 - March 10, 2023

HIGHLIGHT: On the mound against region rival Savannah Country Day on Thursday, March 9, 2023, Hampton pitched a complete game going seven innings, giving up three hits, one earned run, striking out six while walking two. 

 

COACH'S COMMENT: "Will had another dominant performance on the mound," said Calvary Day School Head baseball coach Phillip Lee.

 

POSITION PLAYER of the WEEK

Player: Griffin Howe senior, Pitcher/Infielder

School: Effingham County High School

Sport: Baseball

Week:  March 6 - March 10, 2023

HIGHLIGHT: Against Glynn Academy, Howe went 6 for 11 (.540 batting average), with two doubles and three runs batted in the three-game series on March 6th, 8th, and 9th, 2023.

 

COACH'S COMMENT: "Griffin was incredible, we needed him to step up and he did in a big way," said Effingham County High School Head baseball coach Jesse Osborne.
