Barber wins at SJGT Tournament of Champions

Savannah's Kate Barber carded scores of 72-69 on the Dogwood course at Lakewood Golf Club in in Point Clear, Alabama, to win the Girls 12-14 age division at the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour's Tournament of Champions.

Barber, a freshman at St. Vincent's Academy, won all three events she entered on the SJGT in 2021, capturing the Sea Island Junior Classic in January and the Sanctuary Golf Club Junior Classin September to go along with her Tournament of Champions win. During the 36-hole event in Alabama, she only carded four bogeys and won by 10 strokes against a field of previous SJGT winners in 2021.

Savannah's Hamp Threlkeld, an 8th grader at Hancock Day School, finished third in the Boys 12-13 age group. He was the first-round leader in the age group after a 1-under par 71.
