BC advances in Granger Classic, Threlkeld named All Tournament

The Benedictine Military School golf team rose to third place in the Granger Classic after the second round played April 12 at the Mountain View course at Callaway Gardens, and the Cadets will compete in match play April 13 at Highland Country Club in LaGrange, Ga.

All 15 teams played the first two rounds of medal play, and the top 8 teams advanced to match play at Highland Country Club. BC will start match play against Gainesville High School, which finished in fifth place.

The Cadets were led in the second round by freshman Bear Dollander's score of 1-over par 73 and sophomore Hamp Threlkeld's 3-over 75. The other counting scores for the Cadets in the second round included freshman Jack Weeks' 7-over par 79 and senior Clayton Ruchalski's 7-over 79.

Threlkeld finsihed the two qualifying rounds in 6th place at 4-over par and was named to the Granger Classic All Tournament team.
