Benedictine Boys and Islands Girls Cross Country Teams Region Champs

On Wednesday, October  27, 2021, at Benedictine Military School, the boys and girls cross country teams from Benedictine and Islands High School won the Georgia High School Association Region 3-AAAA championships.

Freshman John Dodson led the Cadets, finishing first overall in the boys' competition with a time of 16:48. The runner-up team for the boy's division was the Warriors of Jenkins High School.

Islands came out on top in the girl's competition, leading the way for the Sharks was junior  Kya Bonds with a time of 21:08. The GHSA Class AAAA Cross Country State Championship at Carrollton High School at noon on Nov. 5, 2021, is the next stop for the GHSA 4A Region 3 cross country teams.

RESULTS FROM THE REGION 3-AAAA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS AT BENEDICTINE MILITARY SCHOOL:

Team results:

Boys champion – Benedictine Military School; Runner-up – Jenkins.

Girls champion – Islands; Runner-up – Jenkins.

Boys top 5 individual results:

First place – John Dodson, Benedictine; second place – Leo Tedder, Jenkins; third place – Kadin Dibkey, Benedictine; fourth place – Harrison Montavon, Benedictine; fifth place – Julian Spencer, Islands.

Girls top 5 individual results:

First place - Kya Bonds, Islands; second place – Chiara Favrin, Jenkins; third place – Mika Spivey, Jenkins; fourth place – Keyami Hines, New Hampstead; fifth place – Tanya Patel, New Hampstead.

BC’s individual results:

First place overall – John Dodson, 16:48; third overall – Kadin Dibkey, 17:40; fourth overall – Harrison Montavon, 17:46; eighth overall – Jett Sumner, 17:80; 10th overall – Garner Mobley, 19:19; 12th overall – Cooper Chu, 19:35; 14th overall – Will Kearson, 19:50.
