The Benedictine Clay Sport Shooting Team won a 10-team Georgia Independent Schools Association qualifying meet featuring 138 shooters on September 19th.

BC’s score of 876 topped second-place Pinewood Christian Academy by one target and third-place Savannah Christian by 39 birds.

The day was windy, making for some very “sporty” targets for the shooters in all events. Juniors Jackson Schaaf and Peter Hodge led the overall team effort with a pair of 186s to tie for first place overall individually. Rounding out the Cadets’ top five scores were senior JoJo Foran (166), junior Jake Kinlaw (172), and junior Walker Brooks (166).

Hodge shot a perfect 50/50 in Skeet to tie for first place. Schaaf and Brooks with 49/50 tied for third. Schaaf tried for second in Sporting with a 91/100 with teammates Kinlaw and Hodge finishing in top 10. Hodge also tried for second in Trap 48/50. The next meet is Oct. 31 at Forest City Gun Club.
