Benedictine & Savannah Christian Baseball Teams Ranked - 3 Others in Consideration

Sports Fans love rankings. Local high school baseball teams entered week seven of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) 2021 regular season play ranked. Two teams from the Savannah area are in the top ten of their respective clasificaions.  Three other clubs have stepped up their winning ways and are in consideration for being in the top ten.

The two teams ranked are Benedictine Military School (16-1) in GHSA Class 4A and Savannah Christian (14-6) in GHSA Class 1A Private. Benedictine dropped two spots from #3 to #5. The Cadets beat region foes last week, New Hampstead 10-0 and Jenkins 11-1, to remain undefeated in GHSA Region 3-4A. The Cadets took to the road on Saturday and dropped their first game of the season, losing to Metter, ranked #4 in GHSA Class 1-A Public, 11-3. 

The Raiders of Savannah Christian remained ranked #6 after last week's play. Savannah Christian is on a seven-game winning steak. They defeated Emanual County Institute12-1 and then traveled to the #8 ranked team in GHSA Class 1-A Private, Strafford  Academy, on Saturday and won 4-0.

Teams getting consideration from The Georgia Dugout Preview website are in GHSA Class 6A South Effingham, which posts a 12-5 record. The Mustangs take on an outstanding Brunswick (9-7) team in a region three-game set this week. Two GHSA Class 1-A schools are getting noticed also. The Redskins of Bryan County (10-7) and the Savannah Country Day Hornets (11-6).
