In high school baseball, teams across Georgia are locked in region battles, each striving relentlessly to secure a position in the state playoffs. With two weeks remaining for the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) and three weeks for the Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA) and Georgia Association of Private & Parochial Schools (GAPPS), the competition is reaching its peak, with critical region series taken place this week.

Richmond Hill, currently in second place in GHSA 7A Region 1 with a 6-3 region record, will face a significant challenge this week. Their series against Colquitt County, in third with a 4-5 record, could reshape both teams' standings and playoff seedings.

South Effingham in GHSA 6A Region 2 aims to improve its position in the standings in this week's series against inter-county rival Effingham County. Securing a series win is crucial for Effingham's chances of advancing to the playoffs.

Benedictine, in GHSA 4A Region 3, is in second place with a region record of 7-2. Their next opponent this week is Southeast Bulloch, a region rival just one game behind with a record of 6-3 and in the third position.

Calvary Day School is leading the GHSA 3A Region 3 with a record of 6-0. This week, long-time rivals Savannah Christian and Savannah Country Day will be matched against other. As of right now, Savannah Country Day is 3-3 in region play, and Savannah Christian is 1-3. This series is crucial to see where these teams wind up in the region and seeding for the playoffs, and as usual, the competition will be intense.

In GIAA Region 6, Memorial Day School finds itself in a battle with a record of 1-1-1. The Matadors are gearing up to face Twiggs this week, with Robert Toombs Academy next week, to win and get a higher seed in the GIAA playoffs.

In the meantime, over in GAPPS Region 4, The Habersham School is currently sitting in second place, having split their series with Community Christian earlier in the season. Despite this, they remain ahead of Community Christian in the rankings. These are the standings below as of April 8th, 2024, found on the GHSA website and MaxPreps.com.
