Calvary Day School Volleyball wins 5th Match of the Season

The Calvary Day School volleyball team took on the Habersham School on Thursday, September 3, 2020. The Lady Cavs played the best of five and won three straight games to to win the match. Calvary swept Habersham 25-19 in the first set, 25-12 in the second, and 25-21 in the third. Senior, Tynley Smeltzer, made her first appearance back on the court as a defensive player, as they have not yet cleared her to jump.  

“It feels great to be back on the court with my teammates,” Smeltzer said. “I’m really excited to finish out my last year with my best friends.”

Smeltezer received six serve balls, had four digs, and led the team with seven aces against the Patriots. 

Senior Payton Graham had an amazing night leading the team in blocks with nine and finished the night with six kills. Freshman, Emmy Nash led the Cavs in kills with 7 between all three sets. Senior Alana White ended the night with 12 digs and 13 serve receive balls.

The win brought Calvary’s overall record of 5-5 heading into their matches against Mount Paran and Providence Christian on Saturday, September 5th.
