Calvary Spikes First Region Win

The Calvary Day School volleyball team played Savannah Country Day on Thursday, September 10th in an enormous region match. The Lady Cavaliers and Lady Hornets were playing for their first region win. Calvary swept Savannah Country, winning 25-12 in the first set, and 25-10 in the second to win the region match. Senior, Tynley Smeltzer, led the Cavaliers in digs and kills with three of each for the night. Senior Alana White had a great serving night with eight aces over the Hornets, and freshman, Emmy Nash, had five. The Cavs had four blocks, two of which were senior, Payton Graham, and the other two from juniors, Megan Halford and Olivia Dusterdiek. The win for Calvary improved their overall record to 7-6 and 1-1 in region play going into another big region match on Tuesday, September 15th against region opponent St. Vincent. Both teams are tied for second place in region play.
