For the second year in a row, Savannah's Chad Chadwell won his age group at the US Kids Golf Georgia Invitational.

The tournament was played June 19-20 at the Callaway Garden Mountain View Course in Pine Mountain, Ga., and Chadwell, 12, trailed by six strokes in the Boys 12 age group following a rain-soaked 79 in the tournament's irst round. But as the weather improved, Chadwell climbed the leaderboard and eventually overtook first-round leader Maxwell Wymore from San Angelo, Texas.

Despite continued heavy rain during the morning of the tournament's second round on June 20, Chadwell caught three strokes by shooting 1-over par 37 over his first nine holes. He caught Wymore on the 15th hole with a par and overtook the lead with a birdie on the 16th hole.

In 2020, Chadwell won the Boys 11 age group at the Georgia State Invitational on the same course. This year, he played his last eight holes in 1-under par to overtake Wymore and defend his title.

In the Boys 12 age group, Savannah's Jack Weeks carded a second-round score of 5-over 77 to claim 4th place.
