Coastal Empire junior golfers headed to Pinehurst, N.C. for US Kids World Championship

Several junior golfers from Savannah and the Coastal Empire earned a spot in the 2023 US Kids Golf World Championship being played August 3-5 on multiple courses in Pinehurst, N.C.

Each year, the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship welcomes golfers ages 5-12 the Pinehurst area. It’s and the largest junior golf tournament in the world and provides a stage for golf’s next generation of stars. Each participant qualified to play in the World Championship based on scores during tournaments on US Kids Local Tours. Savannah has had a Local Tour for the past six years, sending dozens of junior golfers to the World Championship.

In the Boys 7 age group that plays a 9-hole format, Richmond Hill’s Lou Kivett will compete on the front nine of Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club. In the Boys 8 division, Savannah’s Rivers Hood will compete on the back nine of the Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club.

 

In the Girls 9 age group that also plays a 9-hole format, Richmond Hill’s Sajni Patel and Georgia McDonald will compete on the front nine of the Longleaf Golf and Family Club. In the Girls 11 group, Richmond Hill’s Victoria Grant qualified to compete on Pinehurst #6, and Richmond Hill’s Ella Kate Woods will qualified in Girls 12 and will play on Pinehurst #5.

Follow the results from all age group at US Kids World Championship Leaderboard beginning August 3.
