Coastal Empire junior golf invaded the iGEN National Championship at Sea Trail Resort in Sunset, N.C., and took no prisoners.

In the Boys 15-18 age group, Savannah's Finn Nixon, a sophmore at Benedictine Military School, was tied for the lead after one round with an 8-over par 80 in cold, windy conditions. Savannah's Alex Dao, another sophomore at BC, was only three strokes behind after the first round.

In the Boys 9-11 age division, Savannah's Rivers Hood carded an incredible score of 8-under 64 in the first round but was still one stroke behind leader Ryan Patel from Bloomingdale, Illinois. Hood's round included an astonishing score of 7-under par 29 on his second nine holes, and the 8th grader recorded nine birdies during his round.

In the Boys 12-14 age group, Alex Dao's younger brother, Zach Dao, was tied for the lead after an impressive score of 1-over 73. Zach Dao was tied with Jackson Bishop from Spartanburg, S.C.
